As #CivilRights prosecutors conducted the investigation #EmilBove demanded, they pushed back against steps he wanted taken, arguing they were either not justified by available facts or contrary to #law, or both.
At one point,Bove instructed #FBI agents on the NY joint terrorism task force to put on their raid jackets, go to #Columbia & stand in a phalanx near #protesters. Within the civil rights division, the instruction was viewed as deeply improper & a blatant attempt to #intimidate #students.

Those types of demands from political appointees at the #DOJ are part of the reason there has been an exodus of lawyers from the #CivilRights division in recent weeks, acc/to current & fmr ofcls.

The federal investigation into #student #protesters at #Columbia appears to have stalled for now, but it represents one of the most contentious episodes yet inside #Justice during #Trump’s 2nd term. The dispute has left lingering ill will within the dept, as well as the #courts & the #FBI….

Joyce Vance points to the words of the woman whose home in Oklahoma was invaded by federal agents said after the agents barged into the home she shared with her three daughters, terrorizing them, forcing them to stand in the rain in the underwear, taking their property — and then it turned out, these were not even the people these agents were seeking:

One thing to keep in mind is that Trump isn’t entirely wrong about the Department of Justice and FBI. They’re both corrupt and have done immense harm. Former FBI Agent Terry Albury leaked their undercover investigations playbook, showing that the FBI doesn’t require probable cause to open inquiries into individuals, including up to close surveillance. This is unconstitutional, but they do it. Albury also claims there’s systemic Islamophobia within the FBI, which often leads to exaggerated cases against vulnerable and mentally ill individuals.

So essentially, a bunch of thugs who lied about who they were broke into this woman's house & stole everything of value, waving around a fake warrant that didn't even have her name on it.

That's where we are.

Marisa told News 4 the agents wouldn’t even leave her a business card. She said she has no idea who to contact to get her things back. Marissa told KFOR the U.S. Marshal’s Service and the FBI were involved in this raid. However, a representative for the U.S. Marshal’s Service says their team was not involved. News 4 reached out to the FBI. Last week, a spokesperson said they were assisting on this case and directed inquiries to Homeland Security. Late Tuesday, the FBI told KFOR they were not on the scene. They instructed KFOR to contact Homeland Security, and we did. A spokesperson for Homeland Security told News 4 they are looking into it and will get back to us, but we have not heard from them. As for Marissa’s phones, electronics, and cash, they have no idea which agency has those belongings or how to get those items back.

So about a u.s judge that got recently arrested with the backing of an "administrative warrant."

A #judge in #Wisconsin state was arrested due to helping a person targeted by the current #us #administration.

Here's what happened: The judge was caught guiding this person to through a private jury door trying to hide them from #ice or from agents. Resulting in this judge getting arrested by the #fbi

The ice agents apparently did not need a #judicial #warrant to enter the #courthouse they instead used an "administrative warrant." Usually you hear about getting warrants from a judge not the #administration. It's certainly different from the everyday.

Things are getting more tensed and extreme in the u.s

Not to mention that current administration is set on experimenting on whether they can #deport u.s #citizens and taking away birthright #citizenship from traditionally considered, u.s citizens.

Other govt #databases contain secret #whistleblower data. At the Dept of #Veterans Affairs, you’ll find granular #MentalHealth info on fmr service members, including notes from #therapy sessions, details about #medication, & accounts of substance abuse. Govt agencies including the #IRS, #FBI, #DHS, & Dept of #Defense have all purchased #cellphone-#location data, & possibly collected them, via secretive groups such as the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency.

The #FBI has its own “Next Generation Identification” #biometric & #criminal-history #database program; the agency also has a #FacialRecognition apparatus capable of matching people against >640M photos—a database made up of #DriversLicense & #passport photos, as well as mug shots. The #SocialSecurity Admin keeps a master #earnings file, which contains the “individual earnings histories for each of the 350+ million SSNs that have been assigned to workers.”
