@xris@ecoevo.socialThe fire in Prospect Park was worse than I thought. I thought it had been in the Nethermead, where some BBQ-ing is permitted. It was in The Ravine, the home to of "Brooklyn's Last Forest". It spread to 2 acres before it was extinguished.
I want to see the area first-hand. I'll wait until 1) the *New jersey* wildfire smoke clears out, and 2) after the weekend, with fewer looky-loos.
Aaaaaand Brooklyn has another brush fire, now in Marine Park. Another brush fire was reported this afternoon, at Everett and Gerritsen Avenues, at the edge of the park.
Marine Park is Brooklyn's largest park. Lots of directions this fire could go. There are many upaved foot trails, but otherwise largely inaccessible to vehicles.
