Professors: you can use yt-dlp to download YouTube videos and add them to directly your presentations.
I've seen so many lectures get derailed by an embedded YouTube video breaking in PowerPoint. Or they minimize their presentation, open up a browser and navigate to YouTube (revealing embarrassing personal recommendations), then make a lecture hall full of people sit through an ad for some fly-by-night home security system or whatever.
@pjaml this is a great tip but I suspect most Professors who have trouble navigating to YouTube won’t have the skill to use this resource
@slchristian I didn't mean to say that they have trouble navigating to YouTube, only that they are subject to YouTube's ads and privacy-invading recommendations algorithm. I can say with virtual certainty that all professors I've had are extremely intelligent and are more than capable of figuring this out. I suspect that they simply don't know that this tool (or ones like it... there are plenty of others) exists and don't think to look for it.
