Join us for a walk in Springfield Park as we celebrate Spring with Sakura cherry blossom, fruit trees and their pollinators guided by tree expert & ecologist Russell Miller. We will look how to identify Japanese cherries and fruit trees, as well as recording the pollinator species using blossom in the park. In January 2021 Russell designed and delivered a large planting scheme of 44 cherry trees as part of a national Sakura Cherry Tree Project (following a major Heritage Lottery Fund refurbishment of buildings in Springfield Park). Previously Russell helped create and managed the community orchard in the park and ran a 5 year restoration to save its old Pear tree.
