@DaniRabaiotti well, that is water hyacinth which is a problem as an invasive species. would volunteer but sure you have better botanists than me. Have you contacted #CaliforniaNativePlant society?

@DaniRabaiotti I'm good at identifying native monocots and dicots of New Mexico and Arizona including decades of hiking through various terrains and conditions from deep droughts to monsoon extremes. But not much else.
