The school is embarking on an exciting growth journey, adding several new continuing positions, which will complement our core areas of strength and push the frontiers to new research areas. Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to: Systems Research (all areas including platforms for Machine Learning and Data Management, Programming Languages and Distributed Systems), Machine Learning applied to Robotics and Dynamical Systems Quantum Computing All positions are full-time, continuing (tenure-track), teaching and research roles based in Sydney. Successful applicants will join a group of enthusiastic, highly research-active and collegiate academics who deliver a world-class education to our undergraduate and postgraduate students. Successful applicants will have an excellent research record, be able to teach in a range of courses, and will complement the core areas of strength in the school and push the frontiers to new research areas. The School of Computer Science is seeking Academics of all levels who can demonstrate: a PhD in a relevant field. Applicants who have submitted their PhD for examination or will do so in the immediate future can be considered outstanding communication skills and the ability to conduct high quality research with increasing independence and to present that work in an engaging way high-level problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex issues as they arise a strong track record (relative to opportunities) in research, including a body of work published in peer reviewed conferences and journals ability and skills for relevant engineering discipline course development, inspired by academic research excellence and industry engaged inquiry ability to teach, engage, and support the learning of students (including in large classes) using innovative and modern pedagogies outstanding interpersonal skills and collegiality.
