Youth Demand supporters have taken to the streets once more to demand that the UK government impose a total trade embargo on Israel, and make the super rich and fossil fuel elite pay damages to communities and countries most harmed by fossil fuel burning.

At 9:50am on Thursday 24 April, around 25 supporters of Youth Demand disrupted traffic at London Bridge South for around 12 minutes.

Pro-Israel agitators have reported rap group Kneecap to the police, who are assessing whether footage from a concert last year merits further investigation.

Danny Morris from the CST posted a video which seemed to show a member of Kneecap making a comment he disagreed with.

This comes as Kneecap attracts the attention of genocide apologists for highlighting Israel’s war crimes and the USA’s involvement at the recent Coachella festival.

The IHRA definition of antisemitism, is a thinly veiled attack on freedom of speech, academic freedom and free inquiry. It prevents scholars from describing and discussing the significance of well-documented historical and contemporary facts.

The definition attempts to censor discussions of the settler-colonialism, systemic racism, apartheid and now genocide that have informed the history and current policies of the state of Israel.

Academic institutions are increasingly yielding to political pressures, eroding the very freedoms they claim to protect.

At MIT, my attempt to teach a “Special Topics” course on language, linguistics, and decolonization in Haiti and Palestine/Israel was censored and delegitimized.

This personal experience reflects a broader crisis in higher education and in the nation—one where free inquiry is stifled by fear, surveillance [..] and worse.

On May 11, 2022, that renowned Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was killed by Israeli forces in the Occupied West Bank.

The Israeli military killed a US citizen, a well-known reporter for Al Jazeera, and the US government never fully investigated who did it; there was no accountability for the shooter, whose name has never been revealed; and ultimately, there was no justice in the case of Shireen’s killing.

An Israeli mayor has said "never again" applies to everyone at an event commemorating Yom HaShoah warning that the destruction of Gaza will not lead to the return of captives.

Amir Kochavi, mayor of the central Israeli city of Hod Hasharon, told attendees that "Jewish morality" dictated that the lesson learned from the genocide against Jews should be that similar atrocities should be condemned regardless of who commits them.

Displaced Palestinians in the Mawasi area of Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, are facing deteriorating health conditions due to the mounting accumulation of waste and garbage.

Among them is Um Yasser Dawoud, an asthma patient living in a tent. Her condition has worsened because of the constant foul smell of waste and sewage carried by the wind. “This place has become a source of diseases,” she said.
