It's only by coincedence that days after the US government welcomed a group of White South Africans (giving them refugee status saying they face discrimination and violence at home) that I watched this fascinating #documentary on the work of #photographer #ErnestCole. In the 1960s Cole smuggled his prints of Apartheid images out of his homeland to New York where they were published in a book - #HouseofBondage (1969). It was the only book published during his lifetime. There was no interest in his equally provocative photos of Negro Life in America.

The documentary Ernest Cole: Lost & Found is streaming on Hulu. I hightly recommend it.

💁🏻‍♀️ ICYMI: 🌍🐠 At 99, David Attenborough continues his lifelong mission with "Ocean" — a #documentary that takes us beneath the waves to understand why sea #health determines #Earth's future.

The #film presents both breathtaking marine life and disturbing human impacts like bottom trawling, while ultimately offering pathways to #ocean restoration and recovery.
