I read about how there used to be a vibrant flower and gardening industry in Gaza and it just added to my sadness about the devastation.
“In 1998, Gazans exported an impressive 80 million flowers to the rest of the world. They grew chrysanthemums, carnations, roses and many other kinds of flowers, mostly on family farms in northern Gaza - (now bulldozed and bombed to bits).”

Playing with one of my inks from Canada, while drawing a comforting floral pattern, for today's #inkyDays drawing. I keep coming back to comfort, and not much pushing my creativity to find new patterns. But I do push myself to keep creating art. Both for my own joy and in defiance of those who want to squash us all.
If we don't rise to protect
what we love
and care about
we lose all reason
to live or die.
