But the same job actually pays a different salary at different universities, because universities individually choose where on the scale a particular job falls. This information is often hidden.

Points 24-32 are Post grad RA
Points 30-39 are Post doc RA
Points 37-47 are Lecturer (~ 'Assistant Prof')
Points 35-51 are Snr Lecturer or Reader (~ 'Associate Prof')

@DarrenObbard Prof has also now been split into 3 bands, which require 'promotion' to get to the next stage. A Prof colleague with multiple papers, lots of grant income, industry funding, was turned down in his application to get off the bottom.
