Manja Hethke et al. have an important new contribution which I think will cause us to rethink how we approach fossil clam shrimp taxonomy. But, aside from that, the paper is notable for this picture, which shows how an arthropod, which adds growthlines like a mollusc, adds new exoskeleton to its carapace. This is called 'incomplete molting.' Turns out that they DO NOT grow a completely new carapace under the old one--just a new bit at the edge.
